Message from Dean

With the aims of providing world class quality education as a Centre of Excellence in academics,we take pride in our dynamic faculty, infrastructure and multi-disciplinary academic programmes at Graduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral level. Situated in the greens of South Chhotanagpur, the Faculty of forestry has an inviting ambience for academically committed and passionately creative man power. It is a matter of satisfaction for us that the Faculty of Forestry has made steady progress in terms of expansion of its physical infrastructure and academic programmes. The Faculty is offering Graduate and Postgraduate degree programmes in five departments vez., Silviculture & Agroforestry, Forest Products & Utilization, Natural Resource & Management, Basic Science & Humanities, Forest Biology & Tree Improvement. At Doctoral level, the Ph.D. programmed are being offered in the Deptt. of Silviculture & Agroforestry. As part of our continuous academic expansion plans, we have started short term training programmes on Bamboo based Enterpriniurship Development and management and Production and Processing of Medicinal & Auromatic Plants of Jharkhand. With a very modern physical and research infrastructure, which has gradually but steadily improved over past few years, the Faculty has well equipped Class rooms, Phyto-Chemistry laboratories and Computer facilities. Our sports playground has facilities for batminton, volley ball, football and cricket. In addition, well equipped gyms are also available in Bhairve hostel for both girls and boys.

Construction of one more girls' hostel is in progress with the full security along with separate space for indoor games. In recent, the Faculty of Forestry has been granted a number of research projects funded by by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. This year, The Faculty of Forestry has achieved" A*" grade from ICAR accreditation.

Committed to promote academic excellence and socially relevant forestry research and education, the Faculty has made all efforts to meet the national standard and moving towards becoming a Centre of Excellence in the field of forestry education.
