Remote Sensing
Remote Sensing is the collection of data by sensors not in direct contact with the phenomena of interest. Analysis of remotely sensed images from many different types of sensors is being applied in numerous fields of study. In order to perform analysis on remotely sensed Imagery, a clear understanding of the interactions within the remote sensing system is needed. A system that depends on electromagnetic radiation requires 4 elements: a source, the sensor, interactions with the atmosphere, and interactions with the earth's surface.
