- JSAC was conceptualized in the year 2001 under the aegis of Department of Science & Technology, Government of Jharkhand
- Transferred to Department of Information Technology, Government of Jharkhand in June,2003
- Formally constituted by Government order in July 2003.
- Registered as an Autonomous Center in August 2003 under Societies Registration Act 21, 1860.
- Operationalised as autonomous Center under Department of Information Technology, Government of Jharkhand, Since October 2003.
