It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Jharkhand Space Application Centre’s (JSAC) website. JSAC was established in May 2003 and registered as an autonomous organisation at the Department of Information Technology, Government of Jharkhand as a part of State Natural Resources Management System (SNRMS) under the auspices of National Natural Resources Management System (NNRMS) set up under the Planning Commission, Government of India.
In line with the objective of SNRMS we assess and update natural resources for planning development needs at Villages, Blocks, Districts and state level for the Jharkhand state. We support different departments in using the remote sensing data for making development plan and also associate in integrating remote sensing data with the other data available with the departments for providing decision support.
Our primary aim of this website is to make available the resource information to all including the policy makers, administrators, NGOs, Private agencies and common people. Further, we also provide or plan to provide various services such as Land records, Near real time agricultural information, weather service, farmer advisory service, infrastructure information, socioeconomic information to all for Simple, Moral, Accountable, Responsible and Transparent (SMART) Governance.
In a short span of time of its functioning since 2004, we have assessed various resources and provide decision support for development activities of the state. Further, we establish and support satellite based communication facility for Education, Health, Training and village resources Centre in the state with the support of ISRO and now has grown into a premier centre as well as centre of excellence in the state and we intend to have close liaison with district administration for supporting block and village development plan using very high spatial resolution satellite data and also establishing monitoring mechanism for effective implementation of various developmental schemes.
